Variety Description

ND1241-1Y is a new yellow potato variety developed by North Dakota State University (NDSU), bred specifically for the Red River Valley’s short growing season. It features uniform, round tubers with an intense yellow flesh and excellent flavor, making it highly desirable for fresh-market sales. 

The tubers are produced in optimal 4–8 ounce sizes, higher set than Yukon Gold, and are versatile for both direct chipping from the field and after long-term storage at 42°F. 

ND1241-1Y is well-adapted to local growing conditions, shows consistent yield and quality, and offers superior packing characteristics, making it an ideal choice for growers and processors alike.
