McCain Foods to Invest USD 480 Million in the Largest Food Processing Plant in Madhya Pradesh, India

In a significant boost to Madhya Pradesh’s industrial and agricultural ecosystem, McCain Foods has confirmed plans to establish the state’s largest food processing plant. On July 3, Pierre Danet, Regional President (APACSA), and Mainak Dhar, Managing Director of McCain India, met with Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to formalize this landmark investment.

The high-level meeting also included the participation of Shri Raghwendra Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Department of Industrial Policy & Investment Promotion and Department of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, and Shri Chandramauli Shukla, Managing Director of MP Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC).

Investment Details

With an estimated total investment of INR 4,000 crore (USD 480 million), the project will be executed in three phases:

• Phase 1: INR 1,500–1,800 crore (USD 180–216 million)
• Phase 2: INR 1,000 crore (USD 120 million)
• Phase 3: INR 1,000 crore (USD 120 million)

Employment Impact

The initiative is expected to generate direct employment for over 600 individuals and indirect employment for around 1,500 people in the first phase alone.

Transforming the Rural Economy

Beyond industrial development, McCain’s investment is set to transform the rural economy of Madhya Pradesh. Over 20,000 farmers across the state will be engaged through contract farming, gaining access to modern agricultural techniques, training, and stable income opportunities.
