While potato flowers are capable of producing fruits, most cultivated varieties rarely do so because they are bred primarily for tuber yield rather than seed production. Environmental factors such as temperature, humidity and day length also influence flowering and fruit formation. In many cases, pollination does not occur effectively, leading to flower drop. Even when fruits appear, they are toxic and not used in commercial cultivation.
