Satnam Agri Products Ltd.

Satnam Agri Products Ltd. is a manufacturer of french fries and potato flakes in Jalandar (Punjab) India. The company is owned by Mandeep Singh while the Punjab Agro Industries Corporation Ltd has 16% share in the project. Production of the french fry factory with a capacity of 10 tonnes/h started in 2007. Potato Flakes production was added later. Satnam Agro grows its own potatoes. The company has also been referred to as Satnam Foods. French Fries are sold using the brand Mr. Fries.

Established by farmer-turned-entrepreneur Mandeep Singh, the company set up a state-of-the-art potato processing plant with an investment of approximately Rs 63 crore. The facility was developed to support large-scale French fries manufacturing using locally grown processing potato varieties cultivated in Punjab.

Satnam Agro Products focuses on processing potato varieties such as Chip Sona 1, developed by the Central Potato Research Institute (CPRI), Shimla, specifically for French fries and processing applications. The company has also worked with additional potato varieties including Surya and Chip Sona 3 as part of its potato processing and variety trial initiatives.

The processing plant is equipped with imported machinery sourced from Holland, Germany, Sweden, and Turkey, with a production capacity of approximately 10 tonnes per hour. Its operations include potato washing, peeling, cutting, frying, freezing, packaging, and cold chain handling for frozen potato products.

The company supports potato cultivation through both owned farming operations and contract farming models. Satnam Agro Products manages around 1,000 acres of its own agricultural land and works with farmers across Punjab through approximately 2,300 acres of contract farming dedicated to potato cultivation for processing purposes. This integrated farming approach helps ensure raw material availability and quality consistency for potato processing operations.
