PM Modi to Launch World Food India 2025, Showcasing India’s Vision as the Global Food Hub

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the fourth edition of World Food India 2025, a global mega food event, on September 25 at 6:15 PM at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries announced. Union Minister for Food Processing Industries Chirag Paswan will also attend the inaugural ceremony.

Organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, the event will run from September 25 to 28 with the vision of positioning India as the “Food Hub of the World.” The platform will foster collaboration, innovation, and investments across the food processing value chain, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and researchers.

Highlights of World Food India 2025

  • Credit support of ₹770 crore  (USD 92.4 Million) will be provided to around 26,000 beneficiaries for micro projects worth over ₹2,510 crore (USD 301.2 Million) under the PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) Scheme.
  • The event will feature CEO roundtables, technical sessions, exhibitions, and networking meets including B2B, B2G, and G2G interactions.
  • 21 countries including France, Germany, USA, Australia, South Korea, Italy, Thailand, and China will showcase their strengths, alongside 150 international participants.
  • Partner Countries: New Zealand and Saudi Arabia Focus Countries: Japan, UAE, Vietnam, and Russia
  • 14 dedicated pavilions and multiple thematic sessions on India as a Global Food Processing Hub, Sustainability & Net Zero, Nutraceuticals, Pet Food Industry, Plant-Based Foods, Specialty Foods, and more.
  • Around 100,000 visitors are expected to attend.

  • 3rd Global Food Regulators Summit by FSSAI: focusing on harmonising food safety standards and regulatory cooperation.
  • 24th India International Seafood Show: highlighting India’s seafood export potential and global market linkages.

Showcasing India’s Strength

World Food India 2025 will spotlight food sustainability, nutritious and organic food production, and cutting-edge innovations in packaging, cold chain, and processing machinery. The event will also host culinary experiences and chef competitions, celebrating India’s diverse cuisine while exploring global food trends.

Union Minister Chirag Paswan recently reviewed the arrangements at Bharat Mandapam, ensuring seamless logistics, international protocols, and a world-class experience for participants.

With its comprehensive agenda and global participation, World Food India 2025 is set to become one of the largest showcases of the international food ecosystem, reinforcing India’s growing role in shaping the future of food.
