Iksan Sweet Potato Mozzarella Burger and Muffin, a collaboration between Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do and McDonald's Korea, surpassed 2.4 million in a month after its launch, setting a new record every day.

According to Iksan City on the 11th, Iksan Sweet Potato Burger, a new menu for the Korean McDonald's "Taste of Korea" project, recently set a record of 2.4 million sales. It is another record, following the sale of 500,000 units in four days of release and 1 million units in nine days. The Taste Project in Korea was launched by McDonald's Korea in 2021, aiming to provide customers with fresh and delicious menus by utilising high-quality domestic ingredients and revitalising local farms.

Iksan-si analyzes that the original taste of Iksan rubber horse, which is soft and sweet, with savory mozzarella cheese and spicy mayo sauce, is a factor that is popular. The success of Iksan sweet potato burgers is also playing a major role in revitalizing the local economy. In fact, 200 tons of Iksan sweet potatoes were consumed, and the amount of donations for love of hometowns linked to Io exceeded 200 million won.

Chung Heon-yul, Mayor:

"With this achievement, we plan to accelerate the expansion of sweet potato supply and distribution network."
