PotatoEurope 2025 Set to Showcase Cutting-Edge Machinery, Smart Farming, and Live Demos in the Netherlands

The international potato sector is preparing for a dynamic edition of PotatoEurope 2025, scheduled for 3 and 4 September at the WUR Open Field Research Centre in Lelystad, the Netherlands. Held under the theme ‘Innovate, Network, Grow’, the event promises to be a central hub for showcasing cutting-edge advancements in the industry.
With over 300 exhibitors and a full schedule of live demonstrations, PotatoEurope 2025 will once again be the key meeting point where technology and future vision converge. An estimated 15,000 visitors are expected to explore the demo fields, which will highlight smart solutions aimed at achieving a more sustainable potato sector.
Machinery in motion
Where else can you witness dozens of harvesters, tipping trailers, tractors, grading lines and optical sorters all operating in the field at the same time? Only at PotatoEurope! Visitors will have the unique opportunity to see potato harvesters from AVR, Dewulf, Grimme and Ropa in action as they harvest 25 hectares of the Alegria variety.
The potatoes will then be transported by tipping trailers from Beco, Brettmeister, Joskin, Van Ginkel Machines and Krampe to the grading lines, where equipment from AVR, Bijlsma Hercules, Dewulf, Grimme, Spinnekop and Visser will take over the handling process.
The box-filling demonstrations are always a major draw. This year, companies including AVR, Dewulf, Grimme, Mechatec, VHM Machinery and Wevano Machinery will present their latest systems.
A remarkable innovation this edition is the live demonstration of optical sorting technology. Here, Flikweert Vision, MecSistem, TechNature, Tomra Food, Visar Sorting and Wevano Machinery will show how their systems visually assess the quality of freshly harvested potatoes.

Innovation at the core
Kuno Jacobs, Event Director of PotatoEurope 2025:
"PotatoEurope offers visitors a comprehensive and practical overview of the latest mechanisation technologies for potato cultivation."
"But the event is about much more than just machinery. Exhibitors on the showgrounds will also present the latest innovations in cultivation, processing and marketing. And through inspiring knowledge sessions — including the WUR conference ‘ICM – The future of potato farming’ — science takes the stage as well. PotatoEurope is the ultimate platform to innovate, share knowledge and strengthen networks across the potato chain."
In addition, 15 companies will showcase their latest developments in dedicated trial plots. Here, visitors can explore not only variety demonstrations, but also trials focused on fertilisation strategies, tuber initiation, crop protection, and storage preparation.
