Dutch Consul Explores Investment and Agricultural Collaboration at Beirut Erbil Company

Beirut Erbil Company received His Excellency, the Consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Erbil, Mr. Adriaan Jsselstein, at its headquarters. He was accompanied by Mrs. Eva Fijen, Second Secretary for Economic Affairs at the Dutch Embassy in Baghdad, along with members of the Dutch Consulate staff.
This visit came in response to Mr. Shaaban Al-Nahar's earlier visit to the Dutch Consulate headquarters in Erbil. It strengthens the economic ties between the two countries and demonstrates the consulate's interest in companies that maintain economic relations with the Kingdom of the Netherlands and serve the agricultural sector in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
The visit also aimed to enhance trade cooperation and explore investment opportunities between the Netherlands and Iraq. During the visit, His Excellency was briefed on the production processes and modern techniques used in the factory, expressing admiration for the quality of the products and the team’s commitment to global standards.
The visit included discussions about market expansion and expertise exchange, emphasizing the importance of continuous cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy and industry. This initiative reflects the Netherlands' desire to support the business sector and strengthen bilateral relations for mutual benefit.

Part of the interview with Consul Mr. Adriaan IJsselstein and Mrs. Eva Fijen was held in the office of Chairman Mr. Shaaban Al-Nahar.
His Excellency was also updated on the latest developments in the factory and the company, reaffirming the impressiveness of the production processes, modern techniques employed, and the commitment to quality standards.
Discussions further covered market expansion and knowledge exchange, highlighting the importance of ongoing collaboration between the two nations in economic and industrial sectors. This move demonstrates the Netherlands' intention to support the business sector and boost bilateral relations for the benefit of both parties.
Mr. Shaaban Al-Nahar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Beirut Erbil Company, reviewed key aspects of the factory, including the mechanism for receiving potatoes from farmers in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
His Excellency also emphasized the Kingdom of the Netherlands' support for agricultural projects in Iraq, noting that the successful model achieved by Nahar Al-Awrad and Beirut Erbil Company stands as an example of thriving and sustainable projects in the region. Mr. Shaaban Al-Nahar expressed his gratitude to His Excellency the Consul for the continued support the Kingdom provides to Iraq, particularly in the agricultural sector.
