Restrain is a Dutch-based provider of post-harvest crop management solutions that specializes in ethylene-based sprout suppression for potatoes and onions.
The company's main product is a tiny generator that transforms ethanol into natural ethylene gas, allowing for residue-free sprout control in storage facilities.
Restrain's technology, designed to replace CIPC, has been used in over 1 million tons of seed, table, and processed potatoes in 36 countries.
In addition to sprout suppression, Restrain provides seed-potato treatment solutions that promote stem count, yield consistency, and size optimization, as well as ripening products for crops like tomatoes.
Precision Ethylene Treatment (PET) uses ethylene sensors and ultra-low dosing (parts per billion) to optimize storage conditions, safeguard fry color, and prevent weight loss.
