BioScout is an Australian agri-tech company that has created the world’s first automated platform for real-time airborne crop disease detection. Using air sampling, robotic microscopy, environmental sensors, and AI, it identifies fungal spores before symptoms appear, giving farmers up to two weeks’ warning.

The system works across cereals, oilseeds, legumes, potatoes, and viticulture, tracking diseases like rusts, powdery mildew, blackleg, botrytis, and septoria. It is also developing models for more specialized pathogens such as Silver Scurf and Eutypa. 

By detecting diseases early, BioScout helps farmers reduce chemical use, protect crop yields, and improve sustainability. This allows treatments to be applied only when necessary, making crop management more efficient and environmentally friendly.
