The GKA separates weeds from the flume flow, effectively removing leaves and other floating debris from root crops during processing. It can be equipped with the optional Compressed Air Weed Lifter DLKH, which lifts leaves in the flume water for easier collection.
Key Features:
- Collecting arms: Drawn constantly through the flume flow against its direction. Leaves are caught by toothed collecting arms, separated in the upper part of the machine, and routed out via a chute.
- Compressed air weed lifter DLKH (optional): Blows air continuously into the flume, lifting leaves so they can be scooped up by the collecting arms. The fan unit is mounted on the flume channel and uses a directly driven radial fan.
- Belt and collecting arms mechanism: Arms are mounted on shafts attached to steel-reinforced rubber belts. Belts run over three belt wheel sets and are properly tensioned. The belt drive moves the collecting arms in a continuous loop within the machine.
- Leaf removal: Collected leaves are transported to the highest point of the belt loop, where they impact a collecting roller, falling into the chute for removal. After impact, arms are realigned on an adjustable guide plate and re-immersed in the flume.
- Adjustable immersion depth: The depth of the collecting arms in the flume can be set using four adjustment lugs to match channel levels.
This design ensures efficient removal of floating weeds while maintaining continuous operation of the flume system.
